Volleyball has some difficult skills and therefore, takes some practice before you can get the hang of it. We recommend that you start by practicing simpler things, like learning how to pass and receive the ball over the net (or elastic band), so that you can slowly master this game.
Place a volleyball net (or a rubber band) at a height equal to your
body height, with your arm stretched out (up). With both hands and fingers extended above your head, try to pass the ball to your partner (dad, mom, friend) who is on the other side of the net.
Ask your partner to send the ball over the net and try to receive it with hands/fingers above your head, or by joining hands with thumbs up and arms extended. Then again send the ball to the other side of the net, just as you did before. How many times can you pass the ball to either side of the net without dropping it?
Draw a (small) court on each side of the net and try to play volleyball by passing and receiving the ball. Together you can set a score and see who wins the game. If there are several players (2 × 2 or 3 × 3), they can play volley by making a maximum of three passes in the team before sending the ball across the net (other team). If the ball goes down or goes outside the court, the team loses the game point.
